"I passed the fitness test, as we expected. Everyone was very surprised becasue "keepers" don't usually finish more than about 4 laps (test calls for 10, 400 m sprints) so everyone was really impressed."
"All of that training I did with you over the summer clearly made a big difference. It is obvious that I really worked hard in the off season and some of the coaches and players are starting to take notice."

"As a U.S. Marine Corps officer, physical training or "PT" is an integral part of my profession. I've been working out consistently for the past 20 years, being involved with high school football, powerlifting, and military PT. In that time I have yet to come across a more effective workout program than the Crossfit program Mark and the CF Montgomery trainers have put together.
I trained at CrossFit Montgomery exclusively from February through early June of 2008. In just four months of training, my physical fitness level has significantly improved. Through Crossfit I've increased in strength, agility, and endurance. I reached the 300 pound squat barrier for the first time and am able to deadlift more now than when I was powerlifting in college. I surprised myself by lifting a combined 835 pounds in my last Crossfit total. I also increased my pull up max from 20 to 25, and I shed 12 pounds. After every workout session I feel completely wiped out and I get a great sense of accomplishment at completing the challenge. I am definitely hooked on Crossfit as my preferred form of PT.
My wife Melissa has also experienced the same positive results. She has increased her strength, stamina, and flexibility. Her physique has become leaner and more muscular. She was able to develop her shoulders and upper arm areas and she can now do unassisted dead hang pull ups. She also got a great sense of accomplishment from completing her Crossfit workouts.
What I like most about Crossfit is the variety, challenge, and intensity of the workouts. Mark is able to combine simple and complex whole body movements that keeps your body guessing. The intensity of the workouts is both a physical and mental challenge. This type of PT goes hand in hand with military combative training and it's exactly the kind of training that benefits Marines in combat.
I was stationed in Montgomery for just one year and there is no question that "discovering" CrossFit and getting to know Mark and the crew was a major highlight.

"I have been an athlete my entire life. First in High School as a three sport athlete competing in Volleyball, Basketball, and Track and Field. Then, as a Division II Intercollegiate Volleyball player. I arrived at Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery 10 months ago as an accomplished marathon runner having completed 13, including the Boston Marathon. Athletics, fitness, and testing the limits of the human body were nothing new to me. When a fellow Air Force officer mentioned CrossFit, although I had never heard of the program, I was more than willing to give it a try.
After day 1 I was addicted to CrossFit. Most of the workouts are 20-30 minutes, extremely challenging, and vary from day to day. I soon came to enjoy the "team" atmosphere at the Montgomery CrossFit affiliate...5-6 days a week I would begin my day with CrossFit. Four months later I can honestly say that I have achieved munerous personal fitness goals. I can now do 7 dead hang pull ups versus 0 when I began CrossFit. I can do approximately 70 male style push ups versus 40. Additionally,at an athletic competition at the Air Force base that included a 1.5 mile run, 400 yard sprint, push ups and sit ups, I earned Top Female honors. There is no doubt in my mind that my recent athletic successes can be attributed in large part to CrossFit.
Now, as I get ready to depart for my next duty station, I can count my remaining CrossFit sessions on two hands. I will miss Gwen, Mark, and all the others that have pushed me to reach new goals. I will even miss the "100 Wall Ball", "Up and Down the River of Pain", "Fight Gone Bad", and running the loop. CrossFit Montgomery has raised the bar and set a standard that will be difficult to match. That being said, CrossFit St. Louis here I come!

“Training with CrossFit Montgomery is invaluable to any athlete that is serious about taking their performance to the next level. They focus on building and strengthening the body’s core strength and endurance and they bring intensity to every workout that will force the body to tap into its full potential.”

"Coach Lehmkuhl and CrossFit conditioning put me at the top of the Freshmen class in preliminary conditioning tests this summer (2007) at The Citadel. At the Citadel we ran, were prescribed many push ups, and did a lot of core. I believe the testing was less challenging because of my time spent working in the CrossFit program. I know I have begun to lay the foundation for the challenging military life that lies ahead of me."

My wife and I have been clients of CrossFit Montgomery since September, 2007 and we could not be more pleased with Mark, Karen, Ken and Gwen. While I had previous CrossFit experience from deployments with the military, the CrossFit Montgomery staff has enabled me to take my training to the next level.
My wife was looking for a program to work on her overall conditioning since the birth of our children and she has made remarkable progress in as few as 3 workouts per week. CrossFit Montgomery with its short, intense workouts have helped us to achieve our fitness goals and has been a perfect fit for our busy family.
